Looking for assistance with this problem - drove home the other day, stopped to find that my remote will not work the central locking, i then tried the spare key and had exactly the same problem, i have checked fuses - and as far as my knowledge all fuses appear fine - has anybody else had this issue and if so are there any solutions - also does anyone know the sequence to manually locking the doors??

If the vehicle is under warranty, take it to the dealer to have them sort it out. Take your spare key as well.

To manually lock the doors, put the key in the lock on the driver's door and turn it 90 degrees.
I think it's clockwise to lock and anti clockwise to unlock but try it for yourself.

You weren't near a radio transmitter at the time? (or something similar) as this can interfere with remotes...

Otherwise you could try an ECU reset (disconnect battery for about half an hour) but I wont be responsible for you losing any radio or other settings... :whistler:  (this could work though as suspect it is the vehicle and not the remotes that are the problem.)

He says he drove home and they wouldn't work, so I guess, unless they erected a mobile phone tower on his footpath while he was out ................................ probaly not. ;)

@ Trev, I missed that bit...

Still think an ECU reset could work (I'd give it a 50/50 cahnce)

I agree, Dazz. Definitely worth a try.

I posted on this before having suffered it on my 2008 FD.

Try a squirt of Silicon lube spray into the ignition barrel and work the key in and out a few times after.

There was a known problem where a single lock tumbler would stick when the key was removed, making the ECU "think" the car was still in use and so inhibiting the remote locking / unlocking.

There was, at the time, quite a discussion around which fluid to use but Silicone spray was suggested to me, I used it, it worked so why not try it?

I had a similar issue a month or two back. I'd pulled up outside a fish & chip shop in Pakenham, went to lock my car and nothing happened.
After much pushing of buttons with no result I locked it with the key. Come time to leave the fob again refused to unlock my car so now I'm thinking something has died and I'm up for a new one. Fortunately whatever was the problem, it didn't stop the car from starting.

Anyhow, to cut a long story short, the fob worked fine when I got home and has worked without missing a beat ever since....until....

I couldn't help wondering why it had refused to work back in Pakenham so the next time I was down that way I thought I'd pull up at the fish & chip shop again. Unfortunately I was unable to park in the exact same spot but, seems it didn't matter too much, when I went to lock the car it again refused to work. After much button pushing it ended up working intermittently so it appears that there is something around that immediate area affecting things....
I'd love to know what it is....  :undecided:

If it was doing that, it would've locked me in it and not let me out....

Hmm, not a bad idea though, maybe an option Hyundai could consider for the next model...  :D

That is a seriously wierd problem.  Must be some localised strange electromagnetic field ?

How about you post the GPS/GoogleMaps data? Satellite or Street View might tell the story. :victory:

Nothing too obvious but I'd consider that this particular spot may be an unfortunate focus for wireless noise from commercial burglar alarms, hotel WiFi and possibly solar power systems. :Dunno:

Next time I'm down there I'll give it another try....   :)

One maybe useful point though, all the shops were closed at the time, other than the fush & chup shop of course....  :undecided:

Ok, well on the basis that the OP has the problem in places other than that one example I'll paste in the past Thread on this and then shut up about it as I'm assuming the locking barrels may not be much different between the new and old models.
