  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
I've notice recently that occasionally my HALO disengages when I turn the ignition off and open the driver's door. AND before you ask, NO, I do not remove the key from the ignition.

Has anyone else experienced this

I'm pretty sure that as a passenger, I've opened the front door once the engine is off b4 the ign key has been removed. I seem to remember thinking "should that happen."

From memory you can override the HALO from inside.  Pull on the handle and the door opens (unless you have the child lock on in the back).  HALO is designed to stop people getting in, not out.

I've always been able to open the driver's door before I remove the ignition key. What is happening in my case, is that when I open the driver's door with the key still in the ignition, ALL door locks disengage.

I know that if I fill up the car with the wife and kids in it (leave the radio on, so it may be different) only the drivers door unlocks.  I'll try tomorrow when I go to work (turn it off and open the door before removing the key).

Fatboy, I know that. I know how HALO works. I've had Lubricious for nearly 18 months and only recently has this started to happen.

Up until recently, the door locks only disengaged when the key was removed from the ignition. Now I only have to open the driver's door, BEFORE the key is removed and  ALL door locks disengage.

My question was, has anyone else had this issue?

Sorry UM, I didn't read your first post fully.  Please see my previous post.  Again, apologies.

Isn't HALO just about locking the doors at speed, not unlocking them at rest?

My central locking only unlocks the HALO-locked doors when I withdraw the key.

Is anyone reading what I'm posting?? I KNOW HOW HALO WORKS!!!

My original question was has anyone else experienced my issue???

Until recently, the HALO only disengaged when the key was removed from the ignition. Full stop ..always did this.

NOW it SOMETIMES disengages when I open the driver's door WITH THE KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION.

Am I being clear enough with my query?

G'day UM,

I tested my HALO this morning.  I turned off the ignition, and opened my door.  My doors don't unlock UNTIL I TAKE THE KEY OUT.  So your's might be playing silly buggers (to borrow my son's phrase).

Hope this helps.
