Me thinks problem solved.... :D

Seems TigerRoo's i30 is a 2013 HYUNDAI I30 ACTIVE GD2 MY14....

Really?
Please explain.  :D

GD2 MY14  = one of those mild updates Hyundai do from time to time (be interested to see if any other changes inside)

Yes! Exactly the same except that is a 1.6ltr DIESEL!

You can get Active 1.6 diesels.
Isn't the issue the fact that it is an Active with an Elite front end and it is a 5 door with 3 door rear badging?  :undecided:

This is a Hyundai i30 GD2 Active MY14 1.6ltr DIESEL:

And THIS is a Hyundai i30 GD2 Active 1.8ltr Petrol:

Confusing innit!

I joined the Hyundai Members Site and on typing in my cars Vin Number it immediately came up with i30 Active 1.8ltr - Red.
I think the confusion has been in the year as we saw another one of these models in a dealership as we passed but didn't have time to stop.

I think the confusion is the differences between the GD My13 and the GD2 MY14....  :)

So it would seem that all models now have the same front except for the SR which scores the old "Active" front while the 2 door SE cops the different rear reflectors.....

Clear as mud!

I believe that this is indeed where the confusion lies. I was told that I have a MY13 yet it appears that I have a MY14. This has not been substantiated yet but it will be when my membership to Hyundai Members is validated - because I will ask them. The MY14's (i30, Petrol, 5 door hatch, Active GD2, 1.8ltr) are being advertised at $20,390 drive away - which is $600 less than what I was quoted prior to a cash and trade-in discount for the MY13.

It appears that I do indeed have a MY14 Hyundai i30 Active GD 2 1.8ltr Manual Petrol 5 door hatch.
I am still confused as to the secrecy with the Registration papers unless it's the fact that these cars are being advertised in NSW for $19,386 drive away. I paid $20,090 after a 'cash discount' and $400 Trade-in on what I was lead to believe was a MY13 with a RRP (from Hyundai) of $20,990.
I asked the dealership in NSW what the difference was between the MY13 and MY14 and was told that the MY14 has the 'sports grill' and rear end badging from the Elite and Premium models but that is all. Otherwise they are the same. So why the $1500 price difference? He didn't say!

I had a chat with the friendly sales staff at the Launceston Motors Hyundai today and apparently as well as the different badging and grill the MY14 has an upgraded catalyst converter to meet new pollution guidelines  (makes me wonder if the new MY14 Diesel might also score a DPF - didn't think to ask until on the way home) I will send them an email and ask.

That's a fantastic deposit, Dazz, thanks.
Pay the rest when you get here and you can drive it home again (except for the wet bit).  :)
