At long last Penrite have exceeded with their new 100% POA & Ester full synthetic oils, Nulon 0W-40 was the only other player in this field that I know of ( Mobil 0W-40 once upon a time was also there ) but is not readily available at stores :(

Now Penrite has entered this elite level with three new viscosities, 0w-40, 5W-50, 10W-60

Autobarn are stocking the new oil at $65 for 5ltrs, far cheaper than the $100 asking price on the Nulon 0w-40 or the Mobil equivalent.

No b4 rating?

I get my mobil 0w40 from a bloke off ebay who imports it for around the same price (for 9.5l)

Like Beerman said, no A3/B4 rating so I think I'll give it a miss...  :Pout:

Actually Beerman said no B4 rating, it does have A3 classification if you read the article.

Yes the oil is more suited for petrol engines, B4 is only of concern for injected diesel engines and since I use petrol the B4 is not an issue for myself.

For you oilers out there the diesel list is here :link: Diesel

Oil specifications explained

A1 Fuel economy petrol
A2 Standard performance level (now obsolete)
A3 High performance and/or extended drain
A4 Reserved for future use in certain direct injection engines
A5 Combines A1 fuel economy with A3 performance

B1 Fuel economy diesel
B2 Standard performance level (now obsolete)
B3 High performance and/or extended drain
B4 For direct injection car diesel engines
B5 Combines B1 fuel economy with B3/B4 performance

C1-04 Petrol and light duty Diesel engines, based on A5/B5-04 low SAPS, two way catalyst compatible.
C2-04 Petrol and light duty Diesel engines, based on A5/B5-04 mid SAPS, two way catalyst compatible.
C3-04 Petrol and light duty Diesel engines, based on A5/B5-04 mid SAPS, two way catalyst compatible, higher performance levels due to higher HTHS.

My statement was about Nulon 0W-40 not being readily available in stores.

The part concerning Mobile 0W-40 was that they used to be a PAO group 4 category oil but don't appear to be so any longer since their revision mid last year.

I should've known you'd be pedantic, Craig....
Yes, I know it has A3 classification but as the 2 are grouped together in the specifications of the Castrol Edge 0W40 oil I use, I just posted the 2 together on here...

When discussing specifications it pays to be precise :)

Nulon lists the 2 together...as does Castrol so perhaps I was precise...  :P

Of course they can be mentioned together when looking at overall spec's, it's just the way you referenced it was that it wasn't A3 rated either as the new Penrite PAO oils are A3/B3...the two different groupings are two separate classifications.
