We like our cars clean, don't we :D

I have to admit to being a bit anal about the car, living in a coastal town carries the dreaded seagull sh1t and you'll often find me cursing into the sky as I dig out my special sh1t removing cloth between washes

Guys, the technical term is "bird lime" :P

Honestly... "bird lime", so it says on my SupaGard Bird Lime wash kit.

Was out and about today and took a couple of pics, one containing a rather nice blue i30   Enjoy.

Parked under the mast at Durris as portrayed in A Scottish Adventure Part II.

Unfortunately the day although warm has been extremely overcast so a bit dark :'(

A view of the countryside between Banchory and Stonehaven looking to the North.

Stonehaven beach with some boating going on in the wonderfully inviting North Sea .

Looking North towards Aberdeen from Stonehaven.

:-[oops, mind you the one without the blank plate needs a fair bit of scrutiny to work it out

More info from Stoney (as it's called locally) available at Wiki (and it's correct!).  They even have a picture just like mine.

Just a quick shot after using the Meguiars NXT Speed Detail to show the beading this stuff gives with a very quick 15 minute wipe after washing yesterday.  As usual we have one dry day followed by a very wet one

Noted that there was a discussion about cleaning in Hemmi's i30 and thought I would update mine to show that I follow pretty much the same method as Hemmi for mine using the Autoglym products which are a bit cheaper than Meguiars for those on a budget.

Wet rinse.
Wash with microfibre finger sponge and Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner from top to bottom leaving bodykit and wheels to last.
Clean wheels with Autoglym alloy cleaner and alloy spoke brush.
Rinse.
Dry with chamois and dry microfibre*.
Polish with Autoglym Super Resin Polish and two microfibre cloths.
Clean windows, mirrors and head/tail lights with Autoglym Glass Cleaner and normal lint cloth (on), microfibre cloth (off).
Re-polish bodywork with Autoglym High Gloss Protection and two microfibre cloths.
Detail all black plastics with Autoglym Bumper Restore.
Apply Turtle Wax Tyre Gloss Protection to tyres.
Apply Alloy Wheel Clean and Protect (disposable wipes I picked up in Aldi)
Vacuum interior carpets and mats and like Hemmi use a damp microfibre (use the one marked *) for the cabin plastics.
Autoglym Leather Conditioner for the leather.

I usually take about 5 hours for that and get great results also.

Rains here about once every three months.. (ish)

That seems to do the job for me !

Though I must admit, yours and Hemmi's do look nice.

Must add for our UK and Europe members................

I bought a product in Lidl which is a nano-screen coating and it is brilliant, the rain drops just bead on contact and at speed run up the windscreen very quickly.  It only cost me £4.99 and I have only applied once (a month ago) yet it is still working.  By that information I would guess that there is enough product in the bottle for a good two years plus  :D

So does that mean you don't need to use your wipers Brian? They would wipe it off wouldn't they?

I leave my wipers on AUTO and with this product they don't wipe as often, however when they do wipe it is really smooth 8)

I've been using rain-x on my old car for about 10 years. I'm nearly at the bottom of my second bottle. On the motorway at 65+mph in moderate to very heavy rain I rarely need to used my wipers. 2 weeks ago I was in a downpoor and could clearly see more than the other people on "fast wipe" in the lanes around me.

However, as anyone who will have used such products there is a downside. If the rain is really light you get a kind of misty fog of ultra-tiny rain droplets. Morning dew also does this.

I usually coat it at the begining of winter, and again half way though.

Whats light rain :P
Living in the UK it is hard to imagine a day without having to give the screen a wipe before moving off, so the dew droplets you speak about don't bother me!

Dazz, I highly recommend giving it a try, I am really impressed with the one I bought and I still have only applied it once.
