They are very similar (I actually like the Sportage styling better)  :-[
Yes, as well as Kia Ceed and Hyundai i30  :D

I like the look of the i30 more (We don't get the Ceed in Oz)

Do they make a "CW" equivilent?

Yes they do.
In fact Hyundai i30 CW is not sold in Russia for some reasons.

I would be interested to see what a "Ceed" wagon looks like because I reckon the CW looks good...

The Kia Ceed SW does look quite good, below are few pictures. But there are few interesting facts about Kia Ceed SW and i30CW.. Okay, so we all know i30 and Ceed are very similar - the dimensions and other things. Well, so are the CeedSW and i30CW, but there is one difference between them..look..

The dimensions of the two are similar -> length i30CW 4.500 / CeedSW 4.490; width i30CW 1.775 / CeedSW 1.790 and so on. But the biggest difference is in the wheelbase.. The wheelbase of CeedSW is 2.650. The wheelbase of i30CW is 2.700. Now this is important for few reasons. CeedSW has the same wheelbase as the ordinary Ceed and has bigger rear boot BUT the story is a bit different with i30CW. The CW has longer wheelbase, comparing it to "regular" i30 and because of that, it has more space for the passengers on rear seats. The ones that own i30 and i30CW have probably noticed that already.. If not, they can check ;) There is no difference for passengers in CeedSW/Ceed though. But because of that, the CeedSW has bigger rear boot (534 lit / 1.664 lit seats down) comparing it to i30CW (415 lit / 1395 lit seats down ). Also, CeedSW rear boot door open more "widely" -> go higher then the ones in i30CW. But there is also one other important difference. Once I was reading the test of i30CW, and they were surprised how well it handles -> doesn't handle worse then the ordinary i30, whereas the Kia CeedSW, which is very similar, doesn't handle as well as ordinary Ceed (that's usually the case when you compare wagons and hatchbacks of the same models). They came to conclusion, it's because of the wheelbase (CeedSW has more kg's "hanging" over the rear pair of wheels, then i30CW).

-> i30CW has extended wheelbase (+5cm) and because of that handles as good as the HB i30, has more space for the passengers on the rear seats, but less space in the rear boot.

All Ceed's above are the "face lifted" models. Before, they looked like this (the pic was taken on the 18th Jan 2009, I think you'll recognize the vehicle next to it) :

If Kia Ceed is ugly, I wonder what you would say about these two

I confess that the clearance of the last car (Lada Priora) is excellent

The splitting the topic puzzled me a little bit and made me think I had got my first "oar"  (having posted the photo I stayed at the page as I moved away from PC and when came back and renewed the page I found out that my messages had disappeared)

I was going to say something very similar  :) :) :)

Speaking of Lada, did you know that Peter Brock actually put his name to a Lada Samara here in Australia in @ 1990?
When they arrived in Australia, they were so badly put together that they usually needed lots of work done before they could be licensed and sold to the public.
Brock got the contract via his Austech company.
PB said he even had Lada cars arrive here with no electrics, and they had to do a full electrical job on them!
He did this from his Austech workshop and they were all sold with Brock badges.

Well, according to the article an overall winner was Renault Sandero, with some exceptions in off-road driving and petrol consumption where the evident leader was Lada Priora

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by that.
All I know is that it is a Lada Samara of around 1990 vintage sold new in Australia at the time. And at that time, they were still considered old technology and never got a good write-up on road tests as the Japanese were way ahead & even the Koreans by that stage had been here for about five years.
John Hughes who was related to Alan Bond (by marriage) initially brought Hyundai into Australia and has pretty much been the biggest seller of them in the southern hemisphere ever since.
So Lada was behind the eight-ball so to speak.
They did get good reviews with the Lada Niva though, which although basic, was actually quite capable as a four wheel drive, albeit underpowered.

Lada Samara is only a name, meanwhile it counts the number of different cars in model line
Lada 21099

Lada 21015

They seem very similar I guess  :D

Well it appears to be Lada 2109 as Lada 2108 has got only one door on either side.

Who makes that?
And who provides the mechanicals?
I know with Lada they always used to use Fiat mechanicals but I don't know that one.
We have something maybe a bit similar here called the OKA (or at least we used to) which was made in Western Australia.

The name OKA is  a bit of a play on words because an "ocker" in Australia is someone who is deemed to be very Australian.

Lada Niva really is a great vehicle. A guy in our village had it up until few years ago. He had some "tractor" tires mounted on for winter.. Incredible.. He also used it for "plowing the snow" to his house -> he lives approx 2 km away from other houses, so no one cleaned it. Now they do clean it, because there are now few touristic little houses being built around there. There were also two more Lada Niva's in our village (which is a lot, considering the village has approx 60 houes), one of the two owners was a lumberjack and I remember him talking only good things about the car.

The tires on the first guys Niva looked like this:
