Just got myself a new gadget from a crowd fund website that gives the ability to not have to worry about fiddling with USB cable to get Android Auto up and running on my 2017 PD I30 head unit and it works a treat, called AAWireless

Every function that the wired connection does the wireless connection will do.
Just a few limitations with the unit you will need a  phone running Android 9 or higher, the companion android app on your phone and a head unit that runs Android Auto other than that it should work.
The site has a great Q&A section that answers most questions.
Delivery time is slow due to the world electronic chip shortage but worth the wait.
