If you have water in there that is a bad situation indeed. You need to take immediate action or the water may enter the engine causing destruction of the high pressure fuel pump, injectors and motor itself. Many $,000 to repair.

Use a diesel additive to begin rectification of your fuel contamination, or spend more money and get a professional to drain and clean your fuel tank.

I use this additive to stop water in my Diesel's, but there are others.

Diesel is an oil, so technically correct. However, just driving the car on a decent high speed run would evaporate any water in the oil.

yes i meant fuel filter.

because i have heard diesel is sometimes mixed with water in the petrol station , which will damage the engine.

Regularly drain the water during the service or install a special designed "water separator"  can prevent this , while i am not quite sure yet.

thanks for your replys.

Lot of us have done many Kilometres now in our cars,if you change the filters at the required services water hopefully should not be a problem,if you are saying that fuel station are deliberately mixing water with their diesel this is not only illegalbut also leaving themsleves open for a huge law suite if caught out.
