Welcome Bas.

I am thinking of replacing my i30 1.6 CRDi with the new model. I am torn between the new 1.6 diesel or the 1.4 petrol - as you may have read in my other posts.

How do you find the 1.4 petrol in terms of performance/ - have you been able to compare it with a diesel?

I am a bit concerned that I will miss the pure power and torque of the diesel - especially when travelling with 4 people and luggage up hills.

Perhaps you don't have too many hills in Holland to make a comparison - but your opinions would be appreciated.

Hi Go for the Diesel then. The 1.4 more than capable of transporting 4 persons with luggage. It's a perfect mate. But Compaired to the diesel. There is absolute no way it can compete to the torque. The reason that i bought the petrol version is pure the millage per year.

The 1.6 Petrol is in my opinion a complete waist of money.
