hi all, about to get a I30, I have a question.

Hi, this is my first post  i have a question. i am about to get the I30 comfort which comes with 15 inch alloys, i am not sure what make of tyre it will come with, i shall wait and see but i have a brand new set of tyres on my existing car which also has 15 inch alloys, those tyres are 195/65 R 15 91V, will those tyres fit onto my new alloys and if i do will it effect my warranty.

thanks in advance

Good to see you here :D

There's such a vast range of tyre usage onsite, you will get a very good answer I'm sure.

PS mine came with Kumhos and I've done over 33000m on them and they're still good

Assuming its Birmingham Midlands, not Birmigham Alabama then they come with Hankook Optimos now (reasonable midrange tyre). All the Czech made cars are supposed to come with them. The tyres are made in Hungary.

According to Hyundai.co.uk on the comfort they are 185/65 R15. I think they are H rated (but dont know for sure, somene will be able to check). I'm not a tyre expert so don't know iif your 195's would fit on the new rims. obviously V is faster (better) rating than H.

What are your existing tyres (make.model) ?

Conti premium contact 2's are an excellent tyre in my experience, we have them on our 207 at the moment. If I was given the choice of hankooks or the Conti I'd definitely Have the Continentals, but you'll need someone to tell you if they'd fit (someone here will know)

Keep in mind if you are selling the old car you might have an issue if it has to have V rated tyres and the hankooks prove to be H rated like I think they are.

Expect you'd have to pay a few quid for a fitter to swap them over too.

Lorian, thanks for that, i have contacted the Hyundai customer support and are waiting for a response, my local tyre dealer seems to think that they will fit but he advised me to check with Hyundai because it might effect the warrenty

I'd be very suprised if if effected the warranty, other than the limited one for the tyres of course (which are covered by the tyre manufacturers guarantee anyway, not the 5yr Hyundai one I believe).

Don't forget the standard i30 15" dia rims are only 5.5" wide. You need a tyre tech to say if the wider tyres will fit on them okay.
