Hi guys,
As you are aware there is an electrical connection next to the oil filter that it must be undone before the oil filter can be replaced. I took my car to Hyundai for the 15,000 service and today (at 17500)  as a routine check up I noticed they did not plug that back in!
It was hanging in the air! I quickly plugged it back in....but I have been driving without it for 2,500KM!!
I just want to ask what is that connector for and am I looking at any damage in electrical components since that thing was not plugged back in?
I will be calling Hyundai tomorrow because I know it was them.....I have never touched the car myself and that retaining clip is too strong to just come off by itself.
I am just surprised no warning on the dash or anything else....Car was driving fine all this time.
Any thoughts?

I would like to know what this connection is for too.

I had my diesel serviced just over a month ago and the mechanic did the same as in your car:-

I drove about 800km or so before I realised. My car also  felt no different with the connection undone.

I had a look there is a thread that mentions something but it is as vague as this one! :head_butt:
I called the dealer who said it has to do something with the Throttle body but it is not important
as he has seen vehicles go without it (disconnected) a full service cycle (15,000km!).

How can you not know what a flux capacitor is omg!!  :scared:

Also I am 98% sure that the plug you are talking about is a sensor of the fuel filter to check if it has water in it. You know the red light on the dash that looks like a filter that lights up before you start the key. I reckon if its not plugged in it might not even come up on the dash before you start it.

In which case if that's right, then having it unplugged won't do any harm unless you actually get a build up of water in the filter whist its unplugged. But I would still me going back to the dealing and giving them what for haha..

Just my 2cents
