A rally driver who borrowed his dad’s classic car for a race lost control at 80mph, flew through the air and crashed into the sea.

The 25-year-old escaped unhurt in Tasmania, Australia.

Andrew (Dad) is a Ford dealer in Port Macquarie NSW.
OH. And he was born in Tasmania.

As long as he is okay, and the car landed on 4 wheels, which is a plus, im sure they can get the car back to its former glory?

They're normally pace noted so any error goes back to the driver/co-driver.
I've seen anything up to 5 cars go off at the same corner despite the use of pace notes (which are prepared by each team during a recce of the course).

Andrew is a Hyundai Dealer at Port Macquarie, he has a good selection of cars at home.  I don't think the perana will be out of action for long as he also has a panel shop in Port.  Daniel has a fair bit of experience as a navigator and has done a few Targa's with Andrew including in the Perana in 2011 which didn't end well either.

Its pretty easy to get is wrong at these targa style tarmac rallies,  sometimes you can be lucky and get away with stuff and other times it bit's you on the ASS
