SPEED limits will be reduced by 20km/h on one Queensland road while others will have limits raised by 10km/h, following a statewide review.

Transport and Main Roads examined speed zones on 100 roads after receiving more than 3300 public submissions last year.

The department has now finalised its investigation on 20 sites with changes recommended on nine sections of nine different roads.

The most significant changes include an increase in the speed limit from 60 to 70km/ on Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road between the Pacific Motorway and Mount Cotton Road, and an increase to 80kmh from 70km/h on Stewart Road from the M1 to the Gold Coast Highway at Currumbin Waters.

The Scenic Highway between Emu Park and Yeppoon in central Queensland will drop from 80km to 60km/h for its entirety, and Olsen Avenue between Smith St and Southport-Nerang Road on the Gold Coast will be reduced from 80 to 70km/h for consistency.
