Hey , just wandering weather anybody has upgraded the alternator to allow for charging a more powerfull battery, or more than one battery at a time. Have been advised to upgrade the power source for the car as I am running a high powered audio amp.

Would anybody know where to aquire an uprated alternator ?

Just a thought, but if you could identify who makes the original one and then approach them for advice

Just wandering, would using the alternator from a larger engined Hyundai, such as the 2.2 CRTD Santa Fe work ?

i ran 3 power hungry class A amps in my last car with a 2nd battery in the boot- just used the standard alternator and a dual battery solenoid- it worked fine, the alternator doesnt work hard after the battery is back to normal charge unless its poorly rated to run the cars lights, a/c etc etc to begin with.  What rating is the standard I30 alternator ??
