Next week will mark the end of my 16th week waiting for my i30, against an originally indicated wait of about 8 weeks when I ordered.

The scrappage deal will run out for me then if they don't deliver. If that happens I guess I might not be an i30 owner after all.

Hyundai CS have a shot to sort it out now, the ball is in their court.

Ring around dealers and find out availability.

If they have 1 either ask your dealer to source it or cancel order and order from the other dealer.

With scrappage - I thought if you had ordered then your car had been accepted on the scheme and therefore you are OK no matter when actually delivered.

I think the scrappage allowance is only valid at registration time, which would be a problem for Mr Lorian if the [now extended] scheme expires before that time

I was told by my dealer (when I started to get stroppy) that the scrappage deal was settled when I ordered the car so I couldn't lose out.

Also the scrappage deal has been extended I believe.

BTW I waited from July 16th to October 23rd for mine - you never know, you might get a free (for what good it is ) sat-nav thrown in and a 6 speed box as I did.

Your dealer should be able to give you some idea by now.

The scrappage deal stipulates that the vehicle has to be delivered within 16 weeks, and I haven't managed to find a definitive answer as to what happens if it isn't. The dealer says "everything will be all right" though. I have asked CS to find the car. Its supposed to have been in the UK for 3 weeks now.

As for finding an un-registered one in stock somewhere, no chance, not the diesel.

I'll hang in there, as there nothing I would rather own,  but they are going to need to do some kind of "magic" with the paperwork to keep the government happy.

I'm on 14 weeks - the dealer reckons it is in the country & will be 7-10 days. I expect your i30 is sitting next to mine on the dockside
