Hi everyone,
it has come to my understanding the rear air-vents are under the seats?
During a recent heatwave in Australia I remember driving with the A/C on max (4) and I asked my brother who was sitting in the rear to put his hand under the seat and feel if any air is blowing out. He said 'nothing'.
Has anybody else had that same problem? Are the air-vents under there or am I just dreaming?

My 2010 i30 Premium did not have any vents into the rear.  Neither does my new 2012 model.

Only the GD Premium has rear vents as far as I know in Australia.

Can't speak for Oz, but mine has rear-facing blowers beneath both front seats. Took a while to discover that, as there are covers under the seat which had flopped down, covering the vents.

Yep, my 08 i30 Premium had the vents under the seats (and the same silly issue with the seat cover detaching and flopping down) BUT

I don't know if they blow cold air when in AUTO and max cooling mode, I suspect that they would only be open when the system is set to floor mode, AUTO max cool would mainly use the dash vents wouldn't it?

They are fitted to my base model.
Work fine but as bumpkin says, you have to select the option which gives you face and feet air flow.
And you need to turn the fan up one notch to allow for the extra volume being used.

I take back what I said earlier with due apologies - my new i30 DOES have air vents under the front seats. I had to get down on my knees to see and feel them them.

I just tried the various climate control settings and they seem to work in all modes - but the flow is hardly perceptible without turning the fan to a fairly high setting.

I keep the Hyundai owners folder under the seat and some pakamacs which blocks them from view - but I rarely have rear seat passengers so it is no big deal.
