Just goes to show, that even cars with a European badge are never 100% perfect.  :)

Yeah, I was listening to him on ABC Radio (I'm not old , just bored with the Doofness of Pop music ). Just goes to show how easily a supposedly good brand can risk being seen as bad.

The latest is that VW is offering inspections to concerned owners.  I'm not convinced that that is the solution.

Probably because they don't know what's wrong either, but want to save face and keep their clientele. With big companies, it's always a marketing exercise, before it's a safety issue.

Nowadays of viral information, big or small, the lines blur.

Last month as Airworthiness Standards Representative, I put out the military equivalent of a nationwide safety alert regarding safe recharging of aircrew emergency torches because for the first recorded time in 20 years, an airman got zapped.

How would the headlines read if I hadn't?

The old US design features built-in retractable parallel prongs that go straight into a charging receptacle at the full 240VAC.  :disapp:

well its taken Hyundai 4-5 years to admit their brake light switch fault and start changing them at your regular service interval at no cost, going by Hyundai's feet dragging vw still has 3 odd years to play around with their customers before they admit there is a fault. IMO.  :fum:
