Another mod to cross of my list! I have installed electric folding mirrors onto my hatch  :happydance:

Started off with purchasing 2 x folding mirrors from a i30cw
master switch and bezel from a i30cw
side mirror connector plugs from cw
and and auto folding mirror relay kit

This was not just a "plug and play" job the electrical wires that are in the CW for the folding mirrors are not in the hatch. The relay kit helps a lot because rather then trying to insert wires into a plug it provides a plug with wires that just need to be connected if that makes sense...

I didn't write down the exact wiring specifics. However for anyone who is wanting to do the same, this is a guideline of what needs to be done.

-First I swapped the covers from my mirrors with the covers on the CW electric fold mirrors, this of course is optional.. while I like the led indicator that the CW mirrors have I didn't want to have and indicator both on the mirror and the fender (and not prepared to shave of the fender indicator or swap fenders with a cw). Also I didn't have to worry about finding the same colour mirrors from a CW
-Install the electric folding mirrors, cut off the original mirror plug and solder those wires to the CW mirror plug (there will be 4 this is the mirror adjusting wires, they will have the same locations) this will leave 3 wires from the CW plug (mirror in, mirror out and led indicator signal)
-install CW master switch and connect relay between master switch and master switch plug
-connect a constant 12v to the red wire in the relay kit (has to be brought from inside, no constant 12v in door)
-find which wires are not being used in the relay kit and test to find folding in/out signals
-wire in/out signals to the folding mirror and same signal wires to the passenger mirror (PITA)

That's pretty much it, if your good enough with a multimeter then you should be able to do it (I did haha)

I don't like looking at the total price for things like this haha...

Switch, bezel and plugs $100
Folding mirrors $220 for pair
Relay kit $70

Sold an led mirror indicator for $40 hopefully sell the other one, and have a master switch for sale for $50

Great work!

I noticed that a window closed when you locked the car remotely.  Is that a standard feature?

Nah that's another after market kit, I have one touch up and down from the inside and then if any windows are down when I lock the car they go up

Nice!   :goodjob:

I sometimes forget to close the windows after locking the doors, especially when the windows were opened by someone else in the car.  In that situation I have to unlock, get in the car, switch the ignition to ON, close the windows, switch off the ignition, get out of the car, and finally lock the doors again.  PITA.  Having the windows automatically close when locking the doors would be a great feature.
