Seems a bit petty

Why not wait until the owner reports the fault?

Quote
It says that on certain models the [window] switch may not operate smoothly and could then end up becoming stiff or not working.

I wonder if I get recalled too?  :undecided:

In our news they said it was a recall because the switch could melt. That could cause other problems...

The driver's window on our 12/09 Hybrid was getting a bit noisy and I was going to have it sorted under the warranty at our next service (but seeing it is now traded .. not my worry)  :snigger:

They've now put a reg-checker on toyota.co.uk which tells you if your model is affected. Ours isn't.

It's only dangerous if you try to free a stuck switch using oil, apparently.

I would think for all the spin, if a manufacturer is going to the expense of inspecting 7.4 million cars, there is a little more at stake than the window might get stuck. If the window might get stuck, they would fix it under warranty when it occurs. The fact that the switch may catch fire and if that occurs cost many millions in a lawsuit if someone dies and they can be proven to have knowledge, may have something to do with it.

Toyota quality  :snigger:

They seem to have recovered from the much more serious recall and the Tsunami damages .. I still have every confidence in them.
