Hi guys,
I just wanted to share this little device that solved all my bluetooth related problems on my 2010 i30.
I bought the SX version with optional bluetooth and they wanted $700+ dollars for installation.
About 5 months ago I came across a device called BELKIN CarAudio Connect FM - Bluetooth.

It plugs into your cigarette lighter socket, and once your pair it with your phone it remembers from then on.
The beauty is it uses FM transmission to transmit audio from your phone to the car's stereo. So all you need
to do is tune to a specific station it picks for you and voila!

It has an in-build mic and you can make/receive phone calls aswell.

For $80 dollars online - This little device solved all my problems!!
Very smart and simple idea is the most cost effective and easier alternative to buying a dealer fitted bluetooth kit
or a brand new stereo!

Thanks for that, i30niko.

My car doesn't have a bluetooth or hands-free facility.  I'll take a closer look 'locally'.   :goodjob2: :goodjob:

Not sure if they're available in or ship to the UK but there are some more professional types here :link: Bluetooth Car Kits | The Car Kit Company

I just had one of there reversing camera kits installed last week and can vouch for their professionalism and quality of products used.

Available at The Good Guys and Dick Smith Electronics for $45

:link: Belkin F8M120AU Car Audio Connect Universal FM at The Good Guys

Be careful though the F8M120AU does NOT have bluetooth it connects to your phone with an AUX 3.5mm jack.
You need the F8M117 model with the bluetooth build in.
The 2 models look exactly the same so easy to confused.

Here is what I use in my car :

:link: Himbox HB01 Hands Free Wireless Bluetooth 4 0 Car Speaker Phone Kit for Mobile | eBay

It doesn't require FM transmission (often dodgy imo), auto connects quite well, and has a few voice prompts too eg "your device is connected". Only downside is the volume control on the device is frustrating but there's an app for that!......

The app I use for any interested android users is 'car dash droid'. It's pretty cool it can automatically open when connected and provides large shortcuts to maps/music etc. It's best feature is that it can auto set volume so that songs aren't too bassy or tinny (50-60% seems like a good balance). The app might be useful to set volume with the stock bt too.

Yep. That's what I've got, too.
The only issue is that it didn't transfer my complete list of contacts. Doesn't worry me though.
