Hey hey all, I just collected my i30S (Sports version) - we call it here in Singapore.
Collected for just 5 days only, i have enjoyed the ride thoroughly. It's my first car so i can't share too much techie experience here. A question i like to ask: I realised under my bonnet the dry battery pack has a missing cap cover on the neg (-) point, it's exposed openly (the pos one has it tho). I later called the distributor, they claimed it's the same for all Hyundai cars, may i ask if it's the same with rest of the world?

Huh, I noticed that cap thing too a couple days ago - after finally popping the bonnet. Good to know that it's not something missing from the car!

  • Was Crystal the i30 SR, now Courtney the Getz-tacy
usually it is just the positive, helps to isolate the terminal from any metal parts that might cause a short circuit. There is no real drama with the negative terminal touching something because, well, it's designed to be touching the body!

A few cars have covers on both, it's certainly not common though. I think it's more for aesthetics and to stop people getting upset because they think something's missing!

Congrats on your i30!  :D
