VERY sorry to hear this! My advice for what it is worth is..

Contact Hyundai Australia documenting your history and explain that you are asking for their help before referring the matter to the ACCC.

If they say "too bad, so sad" then contact ACCC for assistance.

Good luck with it (sounds like you might have a case being as there is a recall and premature failure of replacement.  :cool:

Thank you I am steeling myself before contacting them!

I should probably clarify I didn't replace the steering wheel column. Instead I had the computer reset a number of times and a wheel alignment, which seemed to do the trick. However, my mechanic did not make any promises that it would last. However, I only spent about $500 all up on that repair, which lasted for about 15months /20,000km

I do not regret my previous decision however I am hoping for a more permanent fix this time.

Mine was under warranty.
Given that it is a known issue, it might be worth doing some researching and then testing your consumer laws in the ACT.
Hopefully others will have some input.
