Just imagine the few in the room that survived (they will be screwed for life) and just think of how many would be effected by the ripple effect of that many kids dying like that ... Siblings, Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents  .. the list goes on and on...  :blubber: :disapp:

That is scary stuff, indeed.

Even though this seem to happen again and again in the US, the people and members of the government doesn't seem to believe there's anything wrong with their weapon law.. :scared:

I do not own a gun now, though I have in the past, for rabbit/bird hunting.
I don't think the problems the US is having is due to guns, it is  the availability of guns to people who have mental problems, and should not have them accessible.
I worked in a sports shop when I retired from my 32 year career position. We sold all types of guns in the store, hand, rifles and shotguns.
Before I handed over a gun for prospective customers I ALWAYS duble checked for ammo in the guns, and left the action open. I NEVER felt worried doing this, but, I also had a lot of knives under the counter, from pocket knives to machetes, when I showed a customer those weapons, I always stayed WELL back of the counter, since I had no idea of the customer's intentions and mental condition.
The guns don't kill people, people kill people.
Apparently from what I saw on CNN, this person was known to have mental problems, why was he allowed to get his hands on these guns?
In Canada hand guns are a restricted firearm, not anyone can buy one.
ALL firearms must be either trigger-locked and/or in a safe, and NOT loaded.

Why the hell would you want to kill four and six year old kids? Probably because the bastard who did this knew they couldn't fight back. Filthy coward!!!!!

I've been fortunate enough to have had 2 children pass those ages. It was a long time ago now, but I can still remember it well. If something like this happened, it would rip my heart out & I would be gutted.

I hope those involved, are truly supported by their relatives, friends and the system, they're going to need it.  :(

Those killed have been called to heaven early, no illness or Earthly worries, no more harm can come to them, bless them all. :Prayer:

I mean the ones doing the shooting. Lots of people in the U.S.have guns.
I really don't see how they will be able to reverse the gun ownership situation.

Apparently the mother owned the guns, she liked guns, she also knew her son had mental problems.
Again, I do not NOW own guns, but they do not shoot themselves.
Remember the guy also in Norway?? who killed all those school kids.

I really don't see how they will be able to reverse the gun ownership situation.

They have a constitutional right to bear arms, so they'd have to rescind that 1st, good luck with that one.
Then a voluntary surrendering of weapons, (only the law abiding citizens would do that, as in Oz), so that leaves the crims and mental defects armed still.  :fum:

Just not going to happen IMO.

in 1880 they had a necessity to bare arms for safety, now they don't.  :disapp:  not one of those gunmen stopped shooting Innocent people due to being shot dead by an armed citizen.

In 1776, pretty much all the guns (I believe) were single shot muskets and pistols. As far as I'm concerned, the constitution can be interpreted to continue to allow them. But any kind of revolver, or automatic weapon did not exist and should not be covered by it.

However, I agree with Phil. It's all gone too far to ever wind it back. I've seen them interviewing gun owners recently and they all say they'd ignore the law if it was brought in.
Nightmare stuff.

Doesn't the constitution give the people the right to keep and bear arms?
"Arms" are weapons, according to my dictionary so all weapons are surely covered by the constitution...  :undecided:
