For my petrol the handbook states

ACEA A5 or above.
So am correct in thinking C3 ok?

Better avoid acea c3. If recommended a5, use a5.

Shell Helix Ultra 5w40, that'll cover everything with the additiononal protection (IMO) over the thin fuel conservation oils.
