Title: How do I remove the badges on the boot?
Post by: Pip on May 29, 2009, 08:10:20
I'm sure I read it somewhere here but can't find it.  I was thinking about removing the CRDi badge.  It always looked crooked to me.  Just had a close look, it must be put on by hand because it sure looks crooked to me!

Anyone know how to get it off without damaging anything?

Thumper mentioned something here

Hmm, I thought I had done a write up on removing the badges?

Might do one, since I have all the photos here.

Parts needed, a normal hairdryer, some metho and a little bit of paint polish (If there are any scratches left over) Shouldn't be, but just in case.

Another method is using fishing line to 'cut' through the glue between the badge and the paint.

Hi,
You can use an ordinary hair dryer pistol and for any remaining glue clean with WD-40 spray.Believe you will get surprised how easy cleans glue and many other things (http://www.wd40.com/uses-tips/)

That is because WD-40 is a mix of PTFE beads in an alcohol based solvent.

I have been touting alcohol on here for a while now as a cleaner for glues which will not affect paint, glass or plastics
