Some sort of ECM's software upgrade for some 1.6L engines.

Actually they downgraded Ceed 1.4 (90hp from 109) :mrgreen:

A small update:
(only for i30s equipped with ESP)
Due to a unknown problem that I'm having with my brakes recently, I insisted that my dealer checks the BMC too, despite to his assertions that i30s are using a different part (note: he is a Kia dealer too).
Well, guess what: it IS the same part that is used on (Czech) i30s too.

Keeping in mind that Ceed's affected range was cars produced 'till 30-3-2009 and that the Czech factory started the production of i30s from 3-11-2008, maybe there is a possibility that some early produced i30s are having the faulty part (my dealer insists that there is no such a possibility, but I don't trust him any more, though I hope he is right).

The procedure of checking the BMC production date is an easy one and you could do it yourself in your own risk (just be careful when disconnecting the ECU connector cap because dealer "managed" to break mine).

P.S. just for the history: my July '09 produced i30 is using the updated part.
