Welcome Jamie!  :goodjob:

Are you wanting yellow foglights just for the looks?

welcome Jamie.  :goodjob: there might be a coating you can spray on the inside to make them yellow.  but i haven't seen any yellow driving lights in my eBay trolling, only clear ones.

You could just have a yellow laminex film fitted on the inside of the lense. That's what they do here... Much cheaper than changing the bulb or lense cover

Don't know about Oz, but here in SA it's totally legal. Apparently the yellow light penetrates through fog much better than the normal white light

From my brief look online it seems that you can have white or yellow.... :)

Seems there's some doubt about that claim.... :undecided:

Yeah, it's a film they put over the headlight or foglight covers.

The fog lights are crap now, putting a yellow film over them will just make them even crappier....  :whistler:

they seem pretty bright but. i know there illegal if you use in clear weather.its more of a look than purpose. my first thought was using night shade spray tint but i really like the yellow effect especially with the black bumper piece around them  :D

They are actually fairly low wattage probably help to make the car visible in fog but don't add much light to the surroundings (as Rusty hinted)  :winker:

Driving lights are a supplement to the high beams (and are usually fairly bright with a long throw)

Fog light are to make you visible in foggy conditions and to light the road directly in front of you without too much reflection off the fog ..

That is how I see it anyway (until someone does a Google and tries to shoot me down in flames )

You could buy yellowish bulbs - usually the "allweather bulbs" are a bit yellow -> click <- But I don't know which brand to get.

The other way is to install a xenon hid kit, but if you want yellow color, then you should get xenon kit, that has color closest possible to 3000K

See this "chart"

And leave the fog lights on during the day and during fine weather as many do, will attract a fine here in West Oz.

dam... when did that happen???

It wasn't Trish's CW it was my Hybrid... hit a big fat wallaby just cracked the bumper (very minor) and knocked the driving light out of its mounting ... Local Toyota dealer did a thorough inspection and put the light back together for $30 .. they didn't pick up the globe was blown (replacement cost me $27) but still lucky to get away with it... (when i bought the globe from their spare parts they said they've seen Kangaroos and Wallabys do $1000's of $$$ damage  :undecided:

Very lucky, Daz.... :goodjob:
I've hit Skippy's in older cars and they've caused heaps of damage, I'd hate to hit one in a modern "plastic" car...

Ebay, you can pick up the yellow halogen bulbs for next to nothing, 55 watt.    fog lights as i understand it produce a low wide beam, to light the edges of the road and low along the surface beneath the fog. if focussed right, as in my forester, most of the light goes off to the side, great for seeing animals, and reflectors on the other side.    Driving lights hve a long beam focussed down the road, its the reason why the "fog" lights on commodores tend to blind you as they are actually driving lights with round reflectors to direct light forward, unike fog lights that have the vertical stepped mirrors to throw the light into a wide but very thin beam.
