I can't believe I only came across this site after I bought my i30. I thought I'd Googled it enough. Anyhow...

I love my new car. I took it on a 5,500 km road trip just after buying it a few months ago and it goes beautifully. There are just a few gripes I'd like to check out with others on this forum as I can't find info on the car's spec listing on the local site.

1. There is no warning when not wearing a seatbelt. The light comes on with the ignition, but goes off and does not come on when a seatbelt is not worn. This seems wrong. Shouldn't I be getting a warning tone and/or light?

2. I expected the car would auto-lock when reaching a certain speed like most new cars I've driven recently. Should I have this feature?

3. Why the hell do the electric windows only have auto-down? Much cheaper cars have auto up- and down- on multiple windows. This just feels cheap.

4. And while I'm at - I saw another thread on this forum about cars not having RDS. This also feels cheap. The sound is great though.

OK - these are all complaints, but I still love Bullet!

Tone should sound when you set off. Well, it does on mine.

That can be set at the dealership.

High-end models have this. I have it on all 4 windows on my 2008 Premium model (UK spec).

I know they don't have the feature in Israel amongst others. Like you say, a real shame. Then again, if the country's radio services don't broadcast in RDS-EON...

Hi there and welcome....  the auto lock had me baffled for a while, but, has Steve says, just ask the dealership to connect is computer thing and turn it on for ya.  I would have thought that 'ON' would be the default setting, but hey oh.....

I hope your gonna do some piccies and show us the motor

There seems to be no seatbelt warning tone in the SA models for some reason. It does flash though if you unclip while driving but stops after a few seconds.... but i don't mind. I find it can get annoying, especially when i'm doing a quick run to the corner store  :p.

The auto-lock just probably needs to be switched on for your car like Steve and Asa said

Cheers

Hi & Welcome...
1. This is exactly the same as all in my place. Seatbelt light only come up for seconds, and without any sound.

2. Should auto-luck when reaching 20km/hr.

3. Here in my place, we also only have auto-down and only for driver side. So some owners modify one touch up & down and even auto close 4 windows when leaving & locking the car.

4. Have no RDS, either.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I spoke to the dealer today and I'm going in tomorrow to get some things sorted out.

He said They would activate the "lock doors over s certain speed" feature, and get RDS info working on the radio. I assume the RDS will involve a software update to the radio - I'll post before and after versions here like others have.

While I'm at it though, I thought as long as the guy is setting the door lock thing on, I'm going to stand over his shoulder and see what else can be changed.

Any suggestions from the forum? What updates/settings can be changed that I can think about?

Ask them whether your seatbelt chime can be set (if it exists)

Also, do you have two remote keyfobs? If you have one keyfob and just a spare key, make sure the spare key doesn't set off the alarm when you use it to unlock your car.

So I went in to Hyundai and they upgraded the radio firmware and added the auto door lock feature. I saw elsewhere on the forum people were uploading firmware versions for the radio so just wanted to share mine.

People were asking about RDS and MP3 tags. Just to let everyone know the RDS is now active and pressing the INFO button cycles through the MP3 tags: title, album, artist, and "total files on USB". So now I can see the album name which was cut off before when the name was long.

Old firmware:
