taking delivery of my i30 (Hyundai Elantra Touring here in Canada) tomorrow night
I've been toying with cars since the age of 16(i'm now 30)
List of my previous cars include
Mazda 6 V6 GT
Porsche 924
Lancer Ralliart
Lancer OZ-Rally
Toyota Paseo
Ford Escorts
Toyota MR2s (aw11)
Toyota Corrollas (ae91)
Asuna sunfire
I've done my share of work on cars and came to understand that there is no magic or difference between any models as all naturally aspired internal combustion engines reacts the same way to modifications. Once you've understand this you are not limited to aftermarket support but rather search for a good welder around your block and research on the web.
I've done few engine swaps in my toyotas, suspension modifications on pretty much all of the cars I had
In my early days I also went the audio way with a custom trunk audio installation in the Paseo
I'm currently rebuilding my 1979 Porsche 924, changed my Mazda6 for the i30 in order to have more time to spend the Porshce and hopefully finish my project one day. I only hope I won't start modding the i30!

It is the 2.0 petrol engine
I was about to sign for a golf sportline (2.5 l petrol engine) and went with the hyundai instead at the last moment
While the i30 is underpowered on paper, it felt actually more powerfull and nimbler on the streets

Got the car last wednesday and i'm very happy so far
I actually never saw a gls sport before i received mine so i'm happily surprised with the little extras
-17" wheels
- rear wing
- bluetooth and xm
Car feels great on the street and weirdly enough, i don't miss my mazda6 v6 even if the engine was 90hp more powerful

Welcome to the club snakoil.
I understand that Daytime Running Lights are compulsory in Canada. I am interested in how they do that on an i30 as I am trying to make the same modification to mine down here in Aus.

Welcome snakoil. I too would like to install DRLs. I have ordered a cheap set from ebay to put on my Kangoo van, but will wait until this is done before considering putting them on the I30.
