Link works here too (might be blocked in S Korea*). Can't see why that HID unit won't do the biz... should be a doddle to fit and look smashing

Interesting to see how they go and how long they last, given the poor performance of most
"upmarket" bulbs etc..... Maybe the ballast system will give some protection against the "spikes" that seem to plague most of us when it comes to headlights.. :undecided:

What's the cost in real $....

Please keep us posted once you have given them a run.... :goodjob2:

I have been using 4300K HID 35W in my car since the beginning of 2008 and haven't had to change my globes at all. I didn't get the 55w as there were some posts on other forums about light housing's getting extremely hot and melting or fogging up etc so I decided to go for less W and a more yellowish beam (4300k) and it has a massive throw distance and makes visibility so much better in my i30. That would be nearly 4 years of it running so far and no issues from me!

After using HID's, I think it is a hazard not to drive with them as visibility is massively impaired in those with just halogens...

Yeah the Xenon HID kit works great in i30. I had it installed for 1 year in my i30. Then I put it out, because the cops were checking the cars about that kit's more and more.. I wasn't into getting AU$ 500, 600 tickets :)

Otherwise, my was I think also 4300K (or was it 4700K?) and 35w of course. The colour was great, the illumination also. I really had a hard time getting used to normal globes again. Tried using +50%, +80% globes, but none of them come close to xenon. Beside that, I had to change them every month. So now I'm running on some "normal" +30% Philips globes, that last 5-6 months. If they start "dying" in 2-3 months, I'm going back on xenon. I'm thinking about it more and more every single day.

We've been using xenon hid kit in Santa Fe also for 2 years now (also 4300-4700K) and looks, works and illuminates great. Also haven't had any complaints from the drives driving in opposite direction (nor in Santa Fe or i30).

Thanks Guys, great feed back..certainly is something to consider, especially if you live in areas like me that have no street lights and is very "rural', with all sorts of things that go "bump" in the night !!!!

Than was "bump".....not "bonk"

Lets keep the feed back coming...

Cheers

We would probably get away with HID mod down here they don't seem too fussed with that sort of thing. However, Trish barely if ever uses the CW at night and my Hybrid has pretty good lights.. :goodjob:
