Because I was knocked over in the rush to buy my car & I just can't decide who to sell it to (do we have a tongue-in-cheek smiley?) I've been thinking I might keep it for another 100,000 kms but give it a bit of a present. Sort of renewed vows, if you know what I mean.
My thoughts are, in no particular order, one of those in-car cameras that have been discussed at length recently (I like the sound of these), a compact dvd player with a small screen somewhere (I have thoughts....) hooked up to a reversing camera also, a tow bar purely for rear-end protection (which is important  :) ), upgraded headlights & maybe spotlights and a find/fix for the rear hatch compartment light which I have never been able to get to work.
I think she would appreciate the attention and it might add a bit of "spark" to the relationship for not a lot of money (compared with a new model......)
These are things I'd like to see in my i30, along with auto-headlights on (for tunnels etc) but I don't think this would be possible.

Bunnings sell a day / night switch for garden lighting for about AU$20, someone with electronics skills should easily be able to modify the circuit to work in a car, here is a challenge for other members.  :Drive:

Thanks for those responses - I'll look into that then. I thought it would be difficult but that would be great as it is one feature I miss.

 So, I wonder if that switch is available as a retro-fit to make it look "factory?"

You'd need the dashboard sensor (or equivalent) too :)

As for a camera, that's an easy addition that you'll get great pleasure from :goodjob:

I've got a dashboard sensor already, but it measures temperature & not light. Do you think that would do to save some money?

I could have my headlights come on every time it dropped below 10 degrees ................

Hi Dave just found this thread..

Those upgrades sound great. If I was getting another camera (which I'm not, as I already have too many) I would get one that folds down from the top of the screen so it is hidden when the car is parked and has a small monitor .. those mini torch shaped ones are useless as you only have little leds to tell you what is going on  :undecided:

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind when looking.
