I hope they succeed with it. However, one has to remember that Mr T has spent billions of dollars and around 20 years research & design, to come up with the Prius.

How Mr H will compete with that much pedigree is difficult to see...

I think the Sonata Hybrid is getting resonable reviews in the USA

and no doubt Mr H has Studied Mr T's products very closely... :rolleyes:

I think they will because their business model is pretty smart.
They design & build their own engines, transmissions, steel & other components, all in-house without having to rely on outside suppliers of major components.
Then they ship the finished product out on Hyundai shipping all over the world, so I think they will beat the Japanese at their own game.
I saw an article quite a while ago now that said Hyundai are developing n LPG/electric hybrid that will make the Prius look expensive to own.
I think a lot of this R&D is done by Kia now at their joint facilities but the outcomes for both Hyundai and Kia will be positive I believe.

Not bad for a Hybrid,  if it had all the kit (I reckon it would be closer to 35K)
