We have a couple of Wireless Mice with Nano transmitters to use with our laptops and late last year I bought a Sandisk Cruzer Fit 16GB dongle to also use as extra storage on my laptop after downsizing the hard drive to an SSD  drive.. (this looks very similar to the transmitters for the wireless mice)

So guess what I did?  :-[

I somehow got the wireless transmitter for the dongle mixed up with the nano usb drive...When it stopped working  :rolleyes: I contacted the supplier and they said to send it back for a replacement..  :happydance:

I sent it back and got a phonecall tonight from an Asian man (by the sound of it) saying you sent us a wireless dongle thing instead of the faulty USB  :-[

So I checked the wireless mouse (which I seldom use)and sure enough the USB drive was docked inside it and it works perfectly   :whistler:

So I then thought I better buy something small from his shop so he could post the wireless dongle back to me with that ...

How do you spell Altzheimers..? I forget :P

Just so you don't feel too bad Dazz, this came off my surfing forums yesterday.
The guy is a school teacher up in the Port Macquarie area so he's not exactly a dill.
Leg ropes on surf boards are attached to your ankle by a strap which uses velcro to go round your ankle. I offer this bit of info to help you understand what happened here. Oh. And they stretch anything up to twice their length. So sort of picture the coyote using some patented slingshot to fling him at the road runner.
Anyway, here's his story.

For some reason the house I'm in has carpet in the garage, I grabbed my stick from the rack not noticing that the leggie had velcroed itself to the floor. Being as it was pumping and I was hurrying the resulting crash as the leggy ripped the board from my hands and I overbalanced into the box we keep shoes in was worthy of first prize in funniest home videos. Dinged my rail too on my pushy as the board tried to re-insert itself into the board rack. Funny, but none of those shoes fit my face.

Hi.

A few days ago, after updating the music, I put my pen in the car.
"Reading USB" during lonnnnng time!
After that: "Reading Error", radio playing, of course!)

As I was late to pick up Mary, only when I was waiting her, I looked closer  the "pen"!
Guess what I saw!

This :Shocked:

instead of this :rofl:

Stick = nickname for a surfboard.
Leggie = legrope
Pumping = the surf was excellent (like one wave pumping after another)
Ding = damage to the fibreglass outer shell of the surfboard
Rail = the sides of the surfboard.
Pushie = pushbike.

See. Simple when you know how.
BTW. They're all highly technical terms I'll have you know.

Thanks for the translation - I have always wanted to speak Australian - and have studiously watched Neighbours, Flying Doctors, Crocodile Dundee and Dame Edna Everage for years - but to no avail.

Then suddenly out of the blue you teach me in just a few words.

I don't know about any of the other Aussies on here, but I have never called them shrimp.   :rolleyes:  They are prawns, pure and simple.   :D

I think Paul Hogan's tourism ads to the US have a lot to answer for. (And no one I know barbecues them either!)  :whistler:

Lesson one
It's "Strine" not Australian.
Which is pretty much how we say that 4 syllable word in our "lingo"
