WW I & II were the first wars where photography was available to record the true ugliness of war.

It's a sad indictment that all we have done is learn how to kill on a mass scale more efficiently and that major power's economies rely on war. While religious differences and inequality exist in the world, there will be fanatics & disadvantaged nations who will do anything to achieve their goal.

And to think, that after all of these terrible events of the past,  so many people in free countries around the world (including Australia) have a hatred and fear of the poor souls trying to flee from death and persecution in their own countries. We should welcome these people, not shun them.

Can you believe that some Baltic countries, such as Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia are proud of their former SS soldiers and let them march round the cities?

I wonder how human beings can do these things to other human beings.
It is beyond comprehension.
I remember my grandfather (1898 - 1996) who joined WW1 as a sixteen year old after lying about his age in order to serve Britain and later served in the R.A.F during WW11.
