G'day all, my names Daniel

I would like to say I'm soon to be the proud owner of a i30 SLX CRDi, but unfortunately I've been stuffed around. I signed the contract for the car on the 11th of October for my 2nd preference of colour under the pretense that it would be ready by the end of the month, today I found out that the car I was supposed to be getting was in fact purchased a few months ago by another person and there had been a clitch in the system, so now I'm left with no car and no idea when I will see my car and I've already paid a 10% deposit.

The dealer seems to be making quite a few excuses about all the problems I'm having, and I really don't know if they are being sincere or just trying to cover themselves.

Any advice from anyone (preferably from Aus) would be greatly appreciated. Information about the strikes that have been occurring and if they should still be having an effect on supply would be great.

The more ammo I have means hopefully maybe I'll get to see my i30 sooner and maybe with some extra benefits added on.

Thank you

Daniel
Hopefully soon to be an i30 owner

Hi Daniel,
You but be frustrated. :D )
Your dealer obviously made a mistake in selling you a pre sold car, but his excuses for his efforts to find you another are probably genuine. My suggestion would be to make some calls to other dealers in the hope that there might be some stock out there. I would'nt be to confident, but its worth a few calls.
As for the deposit, seeing as it was your dealer who messed up, I think they would have to return your deposit.

Good luck :)

Unlucky Daniel.

I could have had every colour sooner than the one i wanted but I'm waiting for my Steel Grey.

I've ordered mine threw a country dealership with a good reputation out here and they wouldn't stuff me around. Reputation is worth too much out here and they beat city quotes cos i told them they would get my servicing done threw them.

Hope you get the one you want soon mate. I'm new to the forum aswell but I get to say Welcome to the forum

Hi Daniel, welcome to the club.

Sounds like you've been well and truly wazzed on. I'd make sure I got my deposit back real sharpish.. it's better in your pocket than your dealership's.

Here's hoping all goes well in your quest for a dream machine  :D

Thanks for a quick response.

I'm not wanting the deposit back. I still wanna go through with the deal, it's just I've now spent a bit over 3k and have nothing to show for it.

SLX CRDi are hardly touching dealer floors before someone snaps em up, I've been told there are none available anywhere. It's just a case of wait for another shipment.

What gets me is I wouldn't have signed the contract now if I wasn't going to be getting this one that I was meant to have by the end of the month (the boat actually docked on Friday, but has to clear customs, blah, blah, blah)

Looks like you were a lucky one to be able to pick it up in days. Hopefully I will get a good resolution out of this.

Regards

Daniel

I went to Melbourne for some quotes to get matched out here, i hated the salesmen that served me i sell furniture and know all their tricks and the idiots tried them on me... i laughed at them and walked of on 4 of them...

90% is shit you already know about the car and sales pitches, as soon as you ask a question they managed to give you a full response without the answer hahah

good luck though, keep us informed

hey daniel!

sounds like a bit of fraud there. you could take advantage of the situation through asking for reimbursement through accessories or something/rim upgrades or something since it sounds like you are willing to wait since it seems like they did cheat you a bit...even though its a glitch in the system...could threaten with fair trading etc etc...false pretense of data etc etc..

guess it comes down to whether you want to take something back for them making you wait?

haha..but welcome to the forum! sucks though that you have to wait extra time...but you will love it when it comes! *hopefully soon!* gluck with that all

Try www.newcarsales.com.au, dealer new cars in stock, hyundai i30, keywords diesel slx steel grey, location all states.  I got 9 hits.  You can try contacting the dealers to find out which ones are the new model (with cc and esp) then see if your dealer can get Hyundai to get one of these cars for you.

Well it looks like my situation has been partly resolved.......

Yesterday I was informed there is a vivid blue one coming into the country on the 30th.

Seeing as this was my 1st preference in colour (but I'd been told I'd be waiting until Jan for it, so I went for the moonlight blue instead) I told then to sign it up straight away.

So hopefully by mid Nov I'll have my car in the colour I wanted and maybe some compensation for the delay.

YAY!!!!!!!!

Latest update

Went into the Dealer to check up on the latest and to see if RAS's car was there (which before the 'glitch' was mine, didn't see it, hoping RAS did pick it up earlier in the week)

According to them the car did arrive in Sydney on the 30th aboard the Takayama.

According to the Sales manager (who was the one I spoke to) they have to fit my accessories and blah blah blah, truck it up here to Newcastle and I should be driving it in 10 days. (Now 9!)

YAY!

Daniel has prob got my PM by now, the delaer assures me they have my car onsite and i should have it by wednesday or thursday, this was after they told me that it was on a truck on the 24th only to find out it did not get on one until the 30th. I am begining to think these guys dont know how to make phone calls and find out what is going on.

At least i should have it this week, yay for a 4month wait.

Or maybe they made the phone calls and were given false info.  That type of thing has happened to me (not with my i30) many times.  That is, others down the line providing information falsely for whatever reasson and making the person on the end look really stupid or untrustworthy.
