@HatiDo you know of any manufacturers that supply Bose audio as standard in their cars.
Its Not that am not going to not buy a car if the radio not up to it, but you usually get better radio the higher the model. Plus i do enjoy the radio and listening to my mp3 player. I did hear that Siemens made some radios for Hyundai don t know if they still do. Its not that i am expecting a Bose system but was looking at a New Focus titanium and that has a Sony radio. When you look at what Hyundai are chargering know there not much less than 19000 to 20000 so i think its fare point to ask what the radios like.
Hi Can anyone tell me what the new i30 radio sounds like or anything about it .As i am looking at getting the i30 style diesel and read on the net that there not that good on the lower models like the active ? compared to ford or vauxhall.Looked in the brouchure but it does nt say anything just that all models have RDS radios.

I think just about every car maker puts crappy speakers into cars, regardless of how good the head unit is (what the customer cant see and all that). So the head unit may say Sony, the speakers say Made in China (or wherever the cheap country is now).General wisdom is to replace the factory speakers with good ones, the difference, even from a non branded head unit is usually more than sufficient (and generally a cheap upgrade too).

I went to a fairly up market car accessory / Audio place in Hobart and the guy said Oh Toyota use fairly good speakers in cars like that I wouldn't bother.. not the answer I was expecting but saved me money and effort so I just left it.. I don't play the stereo all that much
Surprisingly, I was given the same advice about my i30.I went in to upgrade my speakers and they told me to save my money because I wouldn't notice the difference.

I did. The speakers in the current edition CW are paper rubbish. I don't even remember seeing a "Made in ..." stamp on them. I fitted some mid range 3 way speakers in the front doors, that improved the sound quality quite a bit. Having said that, the wife's new Accent has better sound even after the speaker upgrade in my CW. Because of the unique surround, I can't be bothered to fit a new double DIN radio.
Gotcha. I am surprised too because they are usually keen to flog speakers. Maybe the sales guy had it in for his boss
Well, I'm pretty happy with the stock speakers in my 2008 Comfort. It has the tweeter at the A pillar and the woofer in the front door and full range speakers in the rear doors. Was just this evening out for a drive. Dire Straits, Money For Nothing, volume at 25 and then drive away.
