Hey :)

Just joined today, have been keeping an eye on the forums for the last few days and it seems like there is alot of info here!

I have just sold my 2011 Ford FG XR6 and picked up a 2011 i30 Trophy. It's the red version, 5spd manual petrol hatch. Gonna be much cheaper to run, and actually has surprised me with some of the little finishing touches it has that the Ford didn't!

I'm looking forward to having some fun with the new toy :)

Welcome to the forum mate, you've made a wise choice :goodjob2:
Fuel economy aside, what was wrong with the Ford? You can't have had it long?

Cheers for all the welcomes! :)

The XR6 was a nice car, but aside from the fuel costs... ford cut alot of corners with build quality on the FG

Underneath the bonnet wasnt painted, apart from the black paint
Engine bay the same
front quarter panels looked like a "doors shut" spray over, the colour didnt continue properly all the way to the panel bolts
Interior was ok, seats were nice but door trims felt cheap

and the repayments were starting to hurt, given that I am also renting a house on my own. The Hyundai is cheaper overall, cheaper payments, cheaper insurance, cheaper fuel

Not as fast... but I can live with that for now  :scared:

I'm an ex-Ford driver as a daily driver and I thought I'd miss the bigger car and all that came with that but I really don't.
I'm three years into i30 ownership and it is still my preferred car to drive daily.
I'm sure you will love yours just as much.

I hope you enjoy your new car. A red Trophy is a nice looking i30.

Definitely enjoying the little car, been on a couple of country runs and it ticks along quite nicely and is quite punchy for overtaking too!

We should have a perth members meet up, go for a little cruise out somewhere and have a bbq or something :)

I'm open to offers.  :D
We've had a few small ones in the past, notably when Dazz was over from Tassie a couple of times plus another one when we met at the Dome cafe in Canning Vale.

Excellent!

Well, perhaps we can organise something when the weather turns a little better (although the past few days have been magic!)

Plus, I havent washed my car in ages, its well overdue for a full wash / clay bar / polish and wax!
