Trish and I have just returned home after doing 2145 Kilometres in a week in a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid rental car Identical to our new one (even including the colour and Build date - now those two factors were just a fluke)

For the record, we used 121.66 litres of Unleaded at a cost of $172.50 with the overall "mileage" calculated at approx 5.671 LPH (which is pretty amazing for such a big car)

We have a reasonable number of photos and some video to post up so will expand the title when I add those.

We did a big loop of Victoria from Melbourne (the Capital with about 4 Million people) through Lakes Entrance to Glen Rowan (via Mount Hotham) then on to Bendigo  and Ballarat, then down to Apollo Bay via Colac and then back to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. We also did a big loop taking in the 12 Apostles and places like Camperdown.. :sweating:

WE caught up with Steve Jnr (2i30's) and Rusty Nutz again and tried to catch up with Stew (Ozsnowman) didn't happen unfortunately.. also caught up with an old school friend who I have known for 46 years but hadn't seen for 33 years  :D

Anyway, like I said pix, videos etc.. to come plus I will add some more Motel reviews to a post I made earlier in the year.

When you saw your friend for the first time in 33 years, did either of you say, "Gee, you haven't changed a bit." ???
(You've changed a lot).

OK, now for a few photos from our trip around Victoria last week .. Didn't take heaps but hopefully you enjoy the few I am posting (Have some video which will take some editing)

Firstly, catching up with Steve Jnr (2i30's) again .. Don't like my pose much looks like I'm about to break wind..  :snigger: (and reminds me I need to lose some weight before 40 Year school reunion in mid November )

As mentioned ended up renting an identical car to the one we have just upgraded to although ours is getting dressed up quite a bit. It went faultlessly and was a great choice as we are used to the little quirks of a Hybrid and I knew how to set up the Bluetooth and Halo etc.. Plus I learnt some new tricks to do with our car as well  :happydance:

Because we covered so much ground in 7 days the scenery was very diverse .. Check this out

over 1600 metres above see level

Lots of snow about at mount Hotham  :goodjob:

(click to show/hide)
Have nice video of some historic towns (to come after editing) and of our drive on the Great Ocean Road  :goodjob:

Good stuff Dazz.

I drove from Bright, over Mt Hotham and down to Omeo in the late 70's, competing in the Total Oil Economy Run.
'twas all gravel then and LOTS of fun. What's it like these days?

That was probably around the time I travelled that road, Trev.

It's all sealed these days apparently.....  :goodjob:

I reckon the Great Ocean Road is very overrated these days.

Too many tourists and too over policed......  :fum:

Very very nice photos - it's a different world from where we over here try to live  :undecided:

Just had a watch of "Red Hill" preview (IMDB) and sure enough you can see some of the town buildings. I think (it's a bit dark).

Some of that architecture needs serious rework too
