That's an odd one 

I had a full beard for a lot of years and then went to a goatie (a moustache by itself doesn't suit my round face)

For 31 years I wasn't allowed to have a beard so when I was, I tried it but didn't like it.
Now I'm just running a goatee that I shave off every few days and let it grow back so it doesn't get too thick.

Same same, db, 30 years in uniform and no beard and very short hair. Any extended break and any growth becomes an annoyance. Daily shaving all the way to the high jarhead hairline is my lot, probably for keeps.
