This last week whilst the temperatures have been low, -2 to -6c, I'm practically at work -7 miles- just as the engine is reaching it operating temperature.

Heater no better.

When I had my Accent, petrol engine, the engine was at operating temperature within 1 mile or so and heater the same.

Anyone else with an i30 crdi having the same experience in this cold spell?

I can't use my heater until after about 2 miles at city speeds, as it would just be cold air coming through. I suppose it's down to the massive engine bloc which takes quite some time to warm up.

My petrol starts giving me warm air after about a mile at city speeds, but that doesn't help the initial shock reaction of the cold leather seats on my rear end until the seat heaters are switched on

Mine are not too bad, I reckon that within a couple of minutes you start to get that warm fuzzy feeling of your nether regions defrosting.
