Crossed the 60,000 klm mark the other day.

And passed the 5 MW/Hr (5,000 kw/hrs) mark from the solar panels after about 15 months of operation.

Yeah. Sorry. I joined the Club at the end of October 2009. Picked up the car a couple of days later. Maybe 4th November. So 3 years and 7 months thereabouts. Thing is I bought the i30 because I was expecting to do a lot less klms from that point on but my part time work in Brisbane continued way past when I expected it to. I've probably only doe a bit over 10,000 klms in th elast 18 months (since I stopped the semi regular day trips to Brisbane.

Yeah, Not being a smartass, but I have to have a giggle to myself, when PPL are putting up these milestones,(which they are) but I would have to be putting them up every couple of months  it's just scary at the miles we clock up in Bruce and Cyril, maybe I'll post the 100,000 K mark for them, which ain't that to far away, doubt we'll have much of a trade in variance at the five year mark,be like the rest of the cars we've had, maintain them until it becomes financially unviable then just let them go to the car heaven  :blubber:

I can think of a couple of dogs I'd like to attach broom handles to.

Good stuff Trev.. The SMA readout is a lot more comprehensive than the cheaper brands. (we have to scroll through to get that sort of information).

Our one has more info than that, too, but I have no idea what any off it means, other than the daily production.

You're right Dazz. The Germans know how to do technology. There's more info on that one page than you could ever need. But there's still more on a second page. :goodjob: :goodjob:
That little schematic across the bottom is interesting. It shows what's going back to the substation. And therin lies the next problem for power authorities.
Substations weren't designed to have power coming in that end and as my graph shows it's getting 244V. Sometimes that figure grows even higher. Yet our power network is designed to operate at around 230-240V.
There's a fair bit of work going on in the background to "manage" this.

Appears we will keep our 27 cents excess power buy back rate for at least another 3 years anyway (that is the Minister's recommendation after much lobbying from me and many others on facebook and through other media...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as consumer's, we are effectively getting charged more for our electricity when the voltage rises over 240. It's not impossible to see 250 incoming, I saw 254 at my house once, from the power station, nothing at all to do with solar.

On this basis, I wonder whether you're being paid a slightly higher rate too. It should work in reverse IMO.
