Interesting, because they've never named a car to be an actual successor to the E-Type, right from the XJ-S through to the XKR-S.
So they must believe that this one will be iconic enough to carry the mantle.

Jag really seem to have a grip on their designs at the moment, the new XF Tourer is simply stunning.

The only thing they need to fix IMO is that none of their range come with manual transmission :fum:

Ive actually seen one of these in the dealers and its an absolute stunner, quite blown away by it...it looks like a mini Ferrari and the rear end looks very Italian like an alfa

Tata are able to throw enough money at Jaguar it seems and as I've said before, Ian Callum (designer) is a genious.
I agree re the manual transmissions - it doesn't seem right that they can't be ordered as a manual.

Looks like the standard 8-speed auto trans can be shifted manually, if I read it right in the reviews/specs.

Manual shifting in auto can be fun, but never as much fun as a true manual IMO.

To me it's not about the shifting, but how well you get shifted from A to B.

One of those would do me nicely.

Yeah, its a DSG, flappy paddle thingy which is not really a manual shift, the computer is still doing the clutch for you, I mean a proper manual with three pedals and a stick, real driving :winker:

Alan just buy one and whack another pedal in there just connect to a big spring,it's called auto suggestion, you'll think your driving a manual.
