very very possible,many PPL within seconds of being stung from the box jellyfish go into anaphylactic(SPL because the bleedin spell checker won't give me the correct spelling) shock and if your in the water when it happens,game over

The type of jellyfish they are saying it could be (still not confirmed) isn't usually seen so far south but is normally around Broome and north of there.
So if it is what they think it is, it might end up changing the swimming habits of a lot of people.
Apparently get stung by one and it's curtains in a very painful way.

I served with an American in AFG who was dead serious that he would not set foot in AUS because of all the dangerous creatures. :lol:
