A truck caused significant damage and long delays when its front section crashed into the roof of the motorway tunnel in Sydney on Thursday.

All city-bound lanes of the M5 tunnel were closed as emergency workers removed the vehicle and cleared debris from the road.

Duncan Gay, New South Wales State Roads Minister, said the truck company will have to pay for the damage.
