A good start for the England Union and League sides today. Room for improvement for the Union boys it's true but always good to start with a Win!

Especially against Australia!  :goodjob2:

Now there ya go Keith winding up our poor colonial cousins, I wasn't gonna mention their lack of success this last year or two, but, since you've mentioned it YIPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...    Them BIG Fijian lads look a bit of a handful tho, and seems they wanna fight sometimes too.

So, who did the English Rugby League team beat today?
Don't forget they LOST to Australia last weekend.

And Rugby Union don't count.

Any more than cricket does.

Bah! Who cares about that girly game?  :whistler:  :snigger:

Rusty we could not expect those Fijians to play aussie Rules they would all have heart attacks trying to keep pace.

Just watching Aus play Fiji now 69 min score is 34-2 .

GI having a good game, I think you Poms might have trouble if they use him as I think Billy was full back playing England both are top players but GI is bigger & wants that #1 bad!

Saw the Union game on the news.
A blatant foot (feet actually) on the sideline and a clear interference ignored.
You didn't really win.

That's the level of refereeing we've become used to in the NRL and we have TWO refs on the filed and sometimes TWO in the video ref's box.

Thanks PK.
I wasn't wingeing. Just "favourably" comparing your Union refs to our League refs.

"You didn't really win"...

Plus at least 9 points from penalties we didn't kick... I've never known an Aussie side give away so many scoring opportunities.

And yes I did see a few wayward Aussie penalties too... Again not used to seeing scoring opportunities wasted by an Aussie side...

I don't think it's the Refs 'dude.... Something's happened to Aussie sport... Don't ask me what tho!

'Tis just normal....no team regardless of what country they come from can stay on top forever.....
The top players retire and are then replaced by "new blood", so the team then go through a period of rebuilding.

We've seen this with the cricket, it wasn't so long ago that the Aussies were kicking arse and England couldn't win a game of marbles, things have now changed though and it's the Aussies that are struggling. In time things will change again....who knows, maybe as soon as this coming ashes series... :whistler:

with tv coverage the way it is today, we see things its hard for reff to see. I think the video reff is or has changed the sport.  good to see the Poms happy( for a few min's ) what country are the linesmen from?

I think it's the aussie coach ( a reject from wests tiggers ( Balmain ) ) I saw two wild pass's just thrown to no one when they played Fiji . that's Tim Sheens style .
but a good coach , gives the young players a go. to get experience for the future.

John, that was League.
The game with the reffing problems was Wallabies v Enlgand. Which we lost. We won our opening RLWC game against the Poms as well as the Fiji game. And those two wild passes were by the same guy, Michael Jennings. Probably not Sheens' fault in this case.
