Seeing the tea and coffee threads have produced  great debate on individuals personal preferences, now it is the turn of alcoholic beverages.

I prefer ale.  A nice cooling pint of John Smith's bitter.  But any bitter around the 4% avb.  Any stronger and i find the taste can be compromised.

Lager is, well i can't really describe it as it is just like flavoured water to me.

Spirits. I drink at special occasions. But i do like a gin and coke with ice in a tall glass during a warm summer afternoon.

Wine. Not to fussed but will drink it if forced on me!

I don't drink at all  :whistler:

I love all manner of beers, especially Coopers Pale Ale. An Australian owed Brewery doing excellent work. Even better when I make it myself.

I also like to explore the micro breweries (being careful not to trip over the so called micro breweries that are a front for the Big boys).

All of 'em.

Having said that, over the last 6 months, my alcohol consumption has reduced dramatically. I'll have 2 wines if I eat out, otherwise, nothing now and for no apparent reason, just don't feel like it anymore. It also assists me in my weight loss program, so I'm happy with this arrangement.

Having been a private brewer's assistant in the past, I like a nice pale ale in Summer and a single sparged Stout in Winter, absolutely fantastic flavour.

I must say if I drink Beer, I like Coopers too, I like all Cooper's Beer. Only reason I drink Sheraz red is in the belief it's good for me in moderation

I'm not a big drinker. As I have mentioned before have had impaired Liver function since contracting Hepatitis as a 12 year old. Although, saying that my liver function has been improving a bit the last couple of years. (annual blood tests happening this week so hoping the trend continues)

Beers, Cascade premium Light would be my favourite (and I am partial to a Shandy too)

Wines, I like a sweeter bubbly or something like a sweet rose' or Brown Brothers Crouchon Reisling.

Since my late Brother steered me towards reds with a meal to aid digestion, I have been having a Lambrusco with my meals when we go out (and have a cask of Lambrusco in the fridge which gets used about once a week as well)

Don't usually drink top shelf but was partial to a Southern Comfort and Coke in my early 20's

Oh and I enjoy a Sweet Mercury Cider from time to time...

Not bad for a non-drinker, eh

Good for you Dazz, good luck with next blood test.
I'm a non drinker when I'm in Sydney, & a one glass of bitter red wine (cheapest I can find , got a case of 6 750m for $17 at Dan's ) if I drink a beer at the club it's Jame's Squire one fifty lash's ( good convict beer  )
But if coopers on tap I'll have that but only the one. Then back to water.

For a while now I have been buying Cooper's Pale Ale.  At the moment I have a glass of Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc next to me.  (I think those french names are bullpoo.)

I do like to mix whisky and cola if it's around, but that's a waste if it's more expensive whisky.  I've got a sweet tooth.

On the radio a couple of hours ago (the ABC!!!  Commo bastards!!!) there was a story about an increase in women with grog-related liver problems.  Not good.

I don't mind a beer.  Whatever is the local is what I'll drink, as it generally goes well with the local food  (e.g. Tiger in Singapore, Tsingtao in China, Singha in Thailand, Tennants in Scotland, and XXXX aka Cat's Piss in Queensland).

As for wine, I prefer a good red, like a Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon.  As for whites, my preference is for Sauvignon Blanc.

Spirits, being Australian, I don't mind Bundy.  I dislike Jim Beam, but don't mind Jack Daniels.  Southern Comfort tastes like cough medicine for me.  After my time in Scotland, I became fond of a good single malt, which should only be watered down with more single malt.

That reminds me of a story about a friend of mine.  He was out with some mates and they walked into a bar.  My friend was partial to a Single Malt as well, and saw Glenfiddich behind the barman.  He told the person getting the round that he would like one of those.  His friend brought it back, mixed in Coke!!   :head_butt:

I've brewed Coopers at home with great success but lost the habit when I spent most of 2011 in a strictly beerless place. I've enjoyed a nice full Shiraz or Cab Sav from time to time. Lately, no alcohol whatsoever while I focus on 100% protein, 0% carbohydrate. I need to lose about 4 kg in fat after a lazy Christmas break in SE Asia and regain about as much in muscle mass.

      Caloundra, Queensland.
So, I enjoy a beer occasionally.
Pale Ale preferably.
Alexander Keiths India Pale Ale (only available in Canada  :disapp::goodjob2: :goodjob2: :goodjob2:
Coopers Pale Ale  :goodjob: :goodjob:
XXXX Gold (not a pale ale)  :goodjob: :goodjob:

Bundy Rum.   :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Don't like Scotch. Got three unopened bottles in the cupboard which have been given to me over the years.

Occasional red or white wine is fine, but almost never these days.

Hate Fosters beer but in the UK it's OK - different brew.

Never taken to Brut champagne either.

@ Gonz....... you are allowed a cheat day in your programme........my customers can't wait for the cheat day to arrive.....two cheat  meals and a few drinks......

@ Trevor..... if you want to get rid of the scotch, I know of a scotch lover who would be willing to take it off your hands.... ;)

I get it but if it works against my goal, I prefer not to promote the idea of cheating or rewarding using the wrong intake - it's just the wrong message. :fum:

Dark rum, whiskey & gin, in that order.
I prefer shorts to ales as the bulk of beers bloats me and gives me headache after about half a pint.
I don't get a bad head during or after partaking of the shorts drinks at all.

But... If I HAVE to have beer it's always a small brewery beer where I drink called Butty Bach but never from a bottle.
