I ordered an I30 SLX manual diesel yesterday. The dealer said there are no silver 08 builds left in Queensland (or Sydney) which have ESP (only white and black which I don't want). Not sure if this is true or not, but as a result mine will be an 09 built car. I should have acted sooner in the month when the sale was announced but I thought it only applied to the SX petrol, and didn't realised it applied to all the models in the range.
They are yet to advise me the delivery date. I am not too hopeful, as the car is either in Korea or on a boat if I am lucky. Now that I have ordered the car, naturally I want it straight away.
Because it will be an 09 built car, I am not entitled to the current promotion where the dealer gets an incentive of $1,800 from Hyundai to sell the old stock. It was a bit of a hard call, because it meant I have to pay $1,800 more to get silver rather than white or black. Not sure if I made a sensible decision or not.
I ended up agreeing on $28,510 drive away with metallic paint, window tint, mud flaps, car mats, boot liner, headlight protectors and ipod cable. This was a $2,717 reduction off the list price. There was probably a bit more reduction possible, but I am happy with the price.
Thank you for everyone on this forum. Your posts have helped greatly with my decision to buy the car my negotiations on price with the dealer. I hope my description of my own experience will assist others.
