  • Wirral, UK. - 1.4 Petrol Active - Aqua Blue
The launch of the decent but oddly-named Vauxhall Adam S at the Geneva Motor Show got us thinking about other cars with daft names. Here are some of the very worst.

Ford Probe

Nissan Cedric

Volkswagen Sharan

Renault Wind

Peugeot Bipper Tepee

Daihatsu Naked

Mitsubishi Toppo

Triumph Acclaim

Ford Ka

Do you have any to add to the list?

Seems you have to be careful what words you use in Spain... ( I knew the Pajero one, but there are others apparently)

I was going to mention the Cedric but I see it's already been mentioned.

Sangyong Stavic.  It looks like poo and the name is no better.

Not a 'worst name ever', more like a misnomer: the Suzuki Mighty Boy.  It must have been deliberate.

      Caloundra, Queensland.
I always reckon the "Starion" should get a guernsey.

The urban myth surrounding it's name - conveyed over the phone from Japan to Australia is a good one.

But the extra information in this Wiki entry gives food for thought.

The "Starion" name is claimed by Mitsubishi to be a contraction of "Star of Orion", although an urban legend wrongly claims that it was intended to be stallion, as a result of an "Engrish" mistranslation. This is unfounded, but no evidence has been presented either way: Though given the equine naming of other models in the Mitsubishi "stable" include the Colt, Lancer and Chariot, the myth has some "plausibility".

I really admire you Rick, it takes a real man to confess to owning a Bongo, but as you pointed out there are not many vehicles you can unload by tipping them on there side, handy for unwanted passengers. Did you have to put your foot out when going around corners  ?
