Welcome to the club galfab ..

I did a quick Google and found this ..

http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/02/09/hyundais-i30-blue-will-be-first-with-isg-stop-start-technolog/

which says the i30 blue with this feature will be available in the UK this "fall" which is american for Autumn I think  :D

so that would be Octoberish 2009?

I'm not sure where you are based but would suspect us Aussies won't see it until 2010 at the earliest....

From what I read earlier in the year the stop/go technology isn't suitable for the CRDI. In fact when you think, it wouldn't be too clever pausing a diesel engine when stopped for a short period, with all that pre-heating that's needed.

Are you in France, galfab?

According to that site it looks like some arrive on 24th and 25th June (wish our Aussie dealers had that info on line!)  :D

Nothing wrong with your English galfab :)

Good choice of car. Looks like you will only be receiving a 3 year warranty. Very strange.

When will you be receiving the i30?

Thank you.
I will receive the car for the 17th june. The question is that i'm not sure that the option stop and start is not a mistake.

Well the "choose your options" does say that the stop/start is an option already included in the price (with a tick in the box), so I guess you will receive it.

Can't you ask your dealer?

I have already asked, and he said that there is not mistake. But on an another forum (http://www.forum-auto.com/marques/hyundai/debut.htm) a man said me that is not possible for him because the production of this car (with isg) is not begining.

So wait and see.

Absolutely, and it's not long to wait now :D but I would still call the dealer to make sure - it might affect your insurance

galfab, welcome, your english is exerlent!
I don't think there would be a problem with stop go when stopped with CRDi as they will start instantly now, just factory recomend to let the intake heater warm up fully before starting, you could still do this with a stop go system as the motor is not runing when the system warm up is turned on. after the system warms up and you start the motor you could drive straight off.
I'm thinking the battery would not last a long time with this system, so they must have a different system to allow for this like maybe two batterys?
good luck hope you don't have a long wait. we might see 3.9L/100k with that new system.

Hi again galfab...

If your car does have this feature it will be very interesting to see how your economy and everything else pans out..

I hope they have some sort of 'turbo saviour' to keep oil into the turbo when the engine shuts off.  Maybe they have an electric oil pump?

I cant see Aus getting this for a very long time since we don't even have a date for the i20 OR the i10 yet.
England and other parts of the world already have them.

This bit is interesting:

 Engine Oil Filter type eco

The housing of the new type of filter is a cast aluminum that is not replaced but that is again used continuously. Only the filter element and gasket seal shall be replaced in an interview. The housing also includes a driving Central and spring relaxation.

I think ours is also just an "insert" that is removed and discarded, leaving the housing to be reused. I'm sure I read that somewhere...

Thats same type filter we already have.
the 6 speed gear box sounds like a good idea. as the CRDi 1.6 is very low geared as it is. i was checking out the rev my 4 speed auto ford is doing at 110kph and it's over 500rpm lower in 4th @110kph than the CRDi i30 is in 5th. i think if you could cruise @ 110kph with rev's @ 1,900 could help economy on trips.
