Hi,
This afternoon I signed up for an SLX manual petrol i30 - I wanted hyper silver but was told there would be a 2 month wait - so tonight I've got to decide between that colour (and wait) or a vivid blue or continental silver - any suggestions?
I've also got a rear spoiler and window tinting - is the paint protection worth it?
I know I've got lots of unanswered questions - one thing for sure is that I'm excited to be getting a new i30.

Welcome dragonboy...

Congrats on your purchase.. Hyundai nearly always use Silver in their advertising and I think the SLX looks great in silver or Vivid blue for that matter.. Personally the only two colours I wouldn't have in Australia are black (although the mica black looks good it is a pain to keep clean and I reckon it would get very hot in summer) or red (because in Australia solid red just doesn't seem to cope with our harsh sun... )

Go with the spoiler by all means but if it's not too late try and get after market tinting you will save around $200 unless they are throwing it in..

I can't recommend paint protection modern clear coated metallics don't need it .. and it's just a money spinner for the dealers..

I would suggest that you search under paint protection and window tinting (separately) on this forum for more opinions.. they have been heavily discussed.

Cheers,

Dazz

Welcome.

First up, a friend of mine is in advertising.
He only ever buys the same colour car as the company runs their campaign in. He reckons it doesn't get any better than that.

I had limited choices for colour, and took the mica black over Red..  Black was on my list of DON'T get colours.
but, I was wrong, I'd buy Mica Black again in a heart beat.

For Dazz:  It's no harder to keep black clean than any other colour...  but it does show up the dirt more. A clean white car is no cleaner than a clean black one.

Yeah good point blue.. I thought I might cop some flack (from Shambles..

Just think black looks great when clean but loses it's looks as soon as it gets dusty or muddy which seems to show up very quickly (daughter had a black getz)
